Our Capabilities
Currently we provide services utilising the following capabilities across all stages of a product lifecycle. Click on each for more details

Classic Benchmark 3D printed boat "Benchy"

-
FDM Printing
Typical manufacture of objects using plastic wire suitable for direct use, usually display visible layer lines from the build process (layer heights 0.1 to 1mm)
-
Resin Printing
Used for extremely high detailed products or where surface finish is important e.g. jewellery, models, figurines, dental and medical work. Not usually as strong but have a near perfect surface finish (layer heights from 0.1mm to 0.01mm)
-
Laser Engraving
Engraving of various metals including Steel, Aluminium Brass as well as engraving or cutting of non-metals e.g. plastic, wood, acrylic
-
Light CNC machining & routing
Engraving and cutting of metals and wood
-
3D CAD, Simulation & 3D Scanning
Designing and simulation of parts before printing using industry standard tools such as Fusion 360, 3D Studio Max, Meshmixer etc.
FDM 3D Printing
FDM is ideal where operational strength is required and oveall asthetic quality in terms of the classic layer lines is secondary. However, careful material choice and layer height settings can minimise the layer effect. We use the latest 3D Slicer software (CURA and Simplify3D) and the advanced features they provide to optimise your print.
We have a number of custom built Fused deposition modelling (FDM) printers powered by Duet Wifi main boards. Some support Dual Extrusion for multi material or multicolour prints.
Most materials types are supported for various applications including: ABS, PLA, PETG, Nylon and Carbon Fibre / Abrasive Filaments via our Tungsten Carbide nozzles.

Build volumes (in mm) range from L235 x W235 x H235 thru L350 x W350 x H350 and a truly enormous L1000 x W1000 x H1000 on our one of a kind customised machine.
Resin 3D Printing
Resin printing has come along way since its early beginnings for windtunnel models or protoypes in extremley brittle resin . Now it not only produces an excellent surface finish (almost equivalent to injection moulding) but with modern resins parts can be strong enough for end use in some cases.
We have a number of resin printers with varying build volumes (in mm) ranging from L143 x W89 x H175 mm to L330 x W185 x H400 mm

All support various resin types from standard model resin to ABS / Engineering & Dental grade resins.
Light Duty Laser Engraving & Cutting
We currently have 2W and 10W UV laser & 2W IR lasser engraving and cutting capabilities over a L300xW300 area.
These provide the ability to lightly engrave metal and cut through card, plastic, acrylic and various sheet wood e.g. MDF, Plywood etc.
We can also laser engrave curved, irregular and non flat surfaces - commonly called Non Planar Laser Engraving
Light Duty CNC Engraving & Cutting
Not only do we specialise in Additive Manufacturing but also some elements of Subtractive Manufacturing. We have a 3-Axis light CNC machining and engraving capability.
Currently this is best suited to plastics and wood for CNC and metals can be considered when engraving.
3D CAD, Simulation & Scanning
We use industry standard software (e.g. Fusion360, 3dsMax etc.) to begin the journey to manufacture your parts. This includes simple geometry to complex models and, if needed, simulation such as Finite Element Stress modelling
In some cases 3D Scanning or Photogrammetry can be the preferred method to either capture the part entirely or to load into CAD software as a reference for design
